Visibility is hard. But not being seen can be even harder. This season, the cards invite you to show up, speak up, and shine—on your terms.

Why Being Seen Feels So Scary

Let’s be honest: being seen is terrifying. Not in a horror-movie jump-scare way, but in that deep, chest-tightening, “what if I’m too much or not enough?” kind of way. Whether it’s posting a picture, saying how you really feel, or sharing something you made with your whole heart—visibility can feel like exposure. And exposure, for many of us, has been historically unsafe.

In real life, on social media, even in relationships that claim to be safe—we shrink. We scroll instead of speak. We ghost instead of glow. And yet, something in us keeps reaching toward the light.

That something is Leo Season.

Leo, ruled by the sun, doesn’t just want the spotlight—it is the spotlight. It invites you to take up space, not as a performance, but as a form of presence. To be warm, bold, loving, loud if you want to be—and quietly powerful if you don’t. To show up because you’re worthy, not because you’re flawless.

For me, this blog post, this zine, this whole Approachable Tarot project has taken an enormous amount of courage. I’m someone who has many gifts (I’m learning to say that without apologizing). I teach yoga. I write. I make things. I have a lot of dreams, and somehow—I get to live in them.

But starting this? Actually putting it out there? Felt like walking around in my underwear.

And I’ve realized… I don’t have to say no to yoga to say yes to this. I don’t have to give up my softer paths to step into a brighter one. I just have to believe there’s room for all of it. That I don’t have to choose between what I love and who I am. And maybe neither do you.

So here it is. Here I am. Let’s talk about the courage to be seen.

How Leo Season Calls You Forward

Leo energy doesn’t whisper—it radiates.

Ruled by the sun and connected to the heart, Leo season reminds us that confidence isn’t about being loud, it’s about being aligned. It’s the sign of courage, creativity, and the childlike joy of self-expression. In astrology, Leo governs the fifth house: the realm of art, play, love, and performance—not for approval, but for the thrill of showing up as yourself.

This season isn’t about pretending to be fearless—it’s about practicing honesty. Leo says, “Look at me,” not because it needs validation, but because it’s proud of the light it carries. And you have that same spark. You don’t have to be loud to be real. You don’t have to have an audience to have a voice.

This is your invitation to take up space—not with perfection, but with presence.

Journal Prompt:

What does “being seen” mean for you right now? Is there a part of you asking to be witnessed, not fixed?

Shine Without Burning Out

We all want to be seen for who we truly are—but visibility without grounding can lead to burnout, perfectionism, or performance. This spread helps you tune into your heart’s capacity to shine while staying true to your energy.

Root Question: What does it look like for me to be seen this season?

This isn’t about being the loudest. It’s about letting your truth radiate—without torching your nervous system or abandoning your needs.

A 3-Card Tarot Spread for Sustainable Visibility

Left – Where I naturally shine
→ This is the space where your light flows with ease—your innate radiance, talent, or presence.
Ask yourself: Am I letting myself enjoy this, or downplaying it out of habit?

Center – What dims my light
→ This card brings awareness to fear, exhaustion, perfectionism, or people-pleasing that clips your wings.
Ask yourself: What patterns make me shrink or question my value?

Right – How to shine sustainably
→ A grounded practice, boundary, or mindset to help you stay visible without self-sacrificing.
Ask yourself: What does real support look like when I’m being brave?

From Resistance to Radiance: A love letter to all of us who sometimes just want to scroll instead

So here’s the thing—visibility sounds sexy until you actually have to do it.

I can be floating along just fine, grateful for everything I have, sipping emotional iced tea under the tree of life—and then it hits.

That 4 of Cups feeling. Restless. Unfulfilled. Low-key bratty.

Suddenly I want more. And more usually costs money.

Enter the Emperor. In my world, he shows up like Big Boss Daddy Energy™, arms crossed, one brow raised, and absolutely not buying my excuses.

He doesn’t shame me—he just reminds me that wanting more doesn’t make me bad or greedy. It just means: “Babe, you want the nice stuff? You better work hard.”

It’s not about hustling to exhaustion. It’s about respecting my desires enough to show up for them. Even when it’s awkward. Even when it’s easier to shrink and hide.

Every time I push through the resistance, even in a tiny way—posting something, saying yes to a project, owning my gifts—I grow. Not because I’m doing it perfectly, but because I’m doing it anyway. That’s the real magic.

So if you’re wobbling on the edge of being seen, you’re not alone.

We’re vulnerable, and we’re feeling it.

It’s also how we meet our courage—and maybe even ourselves.

Daily Practices for Showing Up Without Performing

Being visible doesn’t have to mean being loud. Leo Season reminds us that shining doesn’t require a spotlight—it just requires sincerity. These daily practices help you root into your truth, so that when you do step forward, it’s not a performance—it’s a presence.

🌱 1. Morning Grounding: Throne Room Visualization

Before the day gets noisy, return to your center. Grab a comfy seat – maybe hold a pillow or a beverage.

Close your eyes and imagine a throne room built just for you. The walls are carved from your own strength—stone and memory, resilience and history. Sit tall in the center. Feel the solid floor beneath you.

Breathe into your belly.

Say aloud: “I am allowed to take up space.”

Even 30 seconds of this can recalibrate your nervous system and remind you: you belong.

✍️ 2. One True Sentence

Each day, write one sentence that feels true. Not poetic, not impressive—just true.

“I’m tired.”

“I love the light on my kitchen wall.”

“I want to be seen.”

This anchors your visibility in realness, not performance.

💛 3. The Gentle Witness Challenge

Pick one small moment to let yourself be witnessed today. Wear the outfit. Ask the question. Post the photo. Smile in the mirror and let it land. You don’t need to go viral—you just need to stop hiding.

The Mantra That Carries You

This mantra isn’t just about confidence—it’s about wholeness. It’s about honoring your joy, your weirdness, your wisdom, your hunger, your need to rest, and your longing to be witnessed. It’s about standing in the sun without shrinking. This Leo Season, let this be your quiet roar.

I will not apologize for existing fully.

Say it aloud.
Whisper it.
Write it in your journal.
Tape it to your mirror.

You Are Allowed to Take Up Space

Not everyone wants a spotlight—but everyone deserves to be seen for who they are.

Taking up space isn’t about getting louder. It’s about getting truer.
Let it be awkward. Let it be weird. Let it be absolutely, unapologetically you.
